Servant of Christ Nomination Form

 

The purpose of the Servant of Christ Award is to recognize and publicly celebrate outstanding service ministry performed during 2009 by ELCA congregations in each Minnesota synod.

Please nominate a congregation that in your opinion has demonstrated outstanding service to the community during 2009 through extraordinary effort or has shown community leadership in social ministry/service/justice whether or not as part of an LSS program. Nominations must be received by LSS no later than January 31, 2010. Criteria that LSS will consider when choosing a winner from among all nominations:

  1. Relationships: Long-term and/or exceptionally rich relationship between congregation and LSS.
  2. Service partnership: A congregation with a service connection to a program or site which has come forward with extraordinary effort in the face of special need (e.g. disaster relief volunteers) and/or which is a leader in social ministry/service/justice in their community, whether or not as part of an LSS program
  3. Financial support: Large gifts, proportionally large gifts, growth in giving, long-term faithfulness in giving to LSS. Congregation members who are donors to LSS are also a consideration.
